ShopGopher was a small-size, high-end personal shopper. They had two previous website designs. The first was done on their own and was purely functional. The second design, which was the one they had up at the time, was quickly done by the creative director to incorporate their new brand identity. My job was to do a full redesign– layout and navigational structure– to incorporate the new brand identity while providing advice on giving the website more of a boutique-feel, as they would later be launching an online shopping site.
Furthermore, the majority of ShopGopher’s customer base was outside of the US. Improving the site’s accessibility for international users was key. To do so, I stuck to basic web scripts (no flash), made sure that there was as little graphical text as possible, and clearly defined all images’ alt tags.
